Position Summary

The Strategic Sales Executive, under limited direct supervision, identifies, validates, and grows new clients. The Strategic Sales Executive leads the client discovery and sales process, manages expectations and ensures that new client's needs and expectations are being met by this bioscience company

Job Classification Full time, exempt Reports to Pharmaceutical Services

Base Salary Range : $105K-$130K with the opportunity of a generous incentive compensation plan.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for achieving sales objectives through new account acquisition
  • Act as the main business contact for prospective clients
  • Identify and qualify prospects
  • Lead the needs analysis and solutioning process in partnership with the project science lead
  • Manage expectations with prospective clients to facilitate and anticipate all company- related activities
  • Identify potential champions within prospective clients to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Develop trust with key prospect stakeholders and executive sponsors, in addition to primary point(s) of contact
  • Work with internal team to create appropriate proposals and SOWs that include accurate scope, and timeline information
  • Present client proposals to ensure understanding of scope and value of the company's services
  • Work with client legal and procurement departments to ensure appropriate obligations are addressed (i.e. PO / MSA issuance)
  • Coordinate the involvement of internal resources including operations, science, and management, to ensure account performance objectives and clients' expectations are consistently met
  • Provide oversight and lead discussions to internal and external stakeholders regarding progress towards client monthly / quarterly initiatives
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate client needs on an ongoing basis and assist in translating into Flagship-delivered solutions
  • Facilitate advisory and planning discussions with appropriate resources
  • Track progress and ensure receipt of appropriate documentation (ex. CDAs / MSAs / Contracts)
  • Provide feedback to company marketing and product management on client needs and tools to advance company messaging
  • Effective transition of the account from account acquisition to project / account management team
  • Other tasks and projects, as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or business-related field or commensurate experience in the field
  • 4 years of strategic sales experience in a business-to-business sales environment
  • Proven track record of success in an account acquisition role
  • Proven science acumen
  • Highly flexible and able to pivot during collaborative sales engagements
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven
  • Ability to adapt and perform effectively in a very fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, both independently and as part of a team
  • Solid computer skills and ability to learn new software applications/systems quickly
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • An upbeat attitude and drive to learn
  • Ability to meet travel requirements, domestic and international

Preferred Qualifications

  • MUST HAVE -->Sales experience in a related industry representing a service and not just products (i.e. pharmaceutical, biological or life sciences, technology, data science)
  • Been already selling services already into the pharmaceutical space and has a small to large book of business (ideally) in the San Francisco Bay area.
  • Preferred but not must have-->Masters or PhD degree
