What is the hidden job market? It is not really a tangible market, but rather a concept. The hidden job market applies to any person or place that has access to information about jobs that aren't posted. They could be through external or in-house recruiters, HR, staffing companies, or recruiting agencies. It helps to get on their lists so that if something comes up, you will be in their database.
Many companies save the cost of advertising jobs (which can add up substantially monthly) by just having their inhouse or external recruiters scour LinkedIn for the right person. This is exactly why you need to have a keyword-optimized, recruiter-ready LinkedIn profile.
How to use these links:
- First, go to LinkedIn and do a keyword search for People: 1) "recruiter", 2 "[your industry, field, or role]", 3) "[your location or desired work location].
- On Linkedin, do the same search for Companies instead of People. See what recruitment companies show up.
- On Google, do a search for staffing agencies, your location or desired work location, and your industry (i.e. tech, accounting, etc.). Contact someone there to see if they can give you suggestions for a good place to look for your type of interested role. See if they have anything.
- If any of these links below look like a good fit, submit your resume on their site and check our their available jobs.
